This summer, Hannes arrives at Mosebacketerrassen for an evening where the grand meets the intimate. With his acclaimed debut album God Bless Sweden behind him and a catalogue of songs marked by both fragility and quiet confidence, he has established himself as one of Sweden’s most distinctive voices — intimate, nostalgic, and impossible to resist.
There is something enigmatic about Hannes. Even though he has become a household name on the Swedish music scene, his artistry remains light-years away from the polished conventions of pop stardom. His music feels more like a serious kind of play — soulful, free in form, and shaped by an imperfect perfection that is both disarming and deeply human.
His songs move effortlessly between alternative R&B, West Coast rock, and country, all held together by Hannes’ warmly intimate voice and the unpretentious storytelling that has become something of his signature. Since debuting in 2017, he has steadily built a world entirely his own, but the real breakthrough came with the 2021 EP When the City Sleeps, featuring tracks like “Sugar” and “I Feel It,” which quickly found an audience far beyond Sweden’s borders.
The following year saw the release of the contemporary anthem “Stockholmsvy,” where Hannes and Waterbaby capture both the romance of the Swedish capital and the ache of lost love. With this year’s celebrated debut album God Bless Sweden, he has deepened the atmosphere surrounding his music even further — intimate, nostalgic, and unmistakably his own.
