Yard Act are a modern British success story. The Leeds band seemed to emerge out of nowhere in the spring of 2020, quickly becoming one of the UK’s most talked-about new acts — championed by NME and compared to sharp-witted social satirists like The Fall, Arctic Monkeys, and Pulp. Their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album The Overload more than lived up to the hype, earning praise from outlets like Pitchfork for its “chatty and caustic take on Brexit-era post-punk.”
Today, Yard Act are a fully-fledged live band. They’ve toured extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, performed on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, and played festivals such as Reading and Coachella. Their fans include actor Cillian Murphy and living legend Elton John — the latter of whom appears on a brand new version of the track “100% Endurance.”
In 2024, the band released their second album Where’s My Utopia, and more new music is on the way. To mark the occasion, Yard Act are heading out on a European tour that brings them to Sweden this autumn — with a stop at Kägelbanan.
