“I don’t remember a thing about Rolling Thunder, it happened so long ago I wasn’t even born.” – Bob Dylan. Anyone who loves Bob Dylan knows that 1975 was an extraordinary year. Dylan was at the peak of his powers, his voice was in remarkable form, the future classic Blood on the Tracks had just been released, Desire was waiting around the corner, and his joy of performing was greater than ever.
On February 13, we bring that very spirit back to life at Södra Teatern. Join us for a tribute concert by Dylan fans – for Dylan fans, and especially for devotees of the legendary Rolling Thunder Revue.
The Rolling Thunder Revue was the groundbreaking tour Bob Dylan took across the United States in two legs between 1975 and 1976, accompanied by a colorful and eclectic ensemble of musicians and performers. Among them were Joan Baez, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Roger McGuinn, Bob Neuwirth, Mick Ronson, Scarlet Rivera, Rob Stoner and Howie Wyeth, to name just a few.
The tour was never a commercial success, but its legacy has proved enduring. It lives on through recordings such as The Bootleg Series Vol. 5: Bob Dylan Live 1975 and Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed documentary Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story.
The tour captured some of the most unforgettable performances of Dylan’s greatest songs, and tonight’s band has the honour of bringing those iconic versions to life for a Stockholm audience at the historic Södra Teatern.
The musicians performing this evening are known from bands and artists such as Orkan, Spela Död, Berg & Bedragare, Vanilla Cowboy, Easy October, Capricorn, Nevrotix, Valter Nilsson, Givana and Lagun, among others.
